What is Infrared Full Body Scanning?
Infrared Full Body Scanning is a totally safe and painless imaging procedure that uses no radiation, injections, or other invasive procedures. Using technology developed by NASA and the aerospace sciences, HealthScan employs a sophisticated medical infrared camera and computer system to scan the surface of the body for infrared thermal (heat) abnormalities. Abnormal patterns of heat are produced when dysfunctional areas send nervous system signals to the surface of the body.

What does Infrared Full Body Scanning have to offer?
Infrared imaging may provide you with an early warning system. Unlike other forms of imaging that detect structural changes such as a tumor, infrared imaging looks at the body’s subtle chemical and nervous system signals. These neurochemical signals may be sent far in advance of significant damage to the body. Infrared imaging has the ability to warn you of a possible health problem that may be years in advance of any symptoms. Other tests may say whether or not a tumor is present, but HealthScan offers a warning for many of the health problems that ruin our quality of life. With this information in hand, you and your health care provider can outline a method for treating a current problem or possibly preventing future problems before they cause irreversible damage.
What is included in Infrared Full Body Scanning and how much does it cost?
After completing a thorough health history form, you will taken to a special imaging room. After a brief time of acclimation to the temperature of the room, your body images will be taken. The doctor may also perform a brief physical examination if it is indicated. The whole procedure takes about 1 hour and the results are available in about 2 weeks (immediate results can be provided as a consultation with the doctor for an additional fee). A written report is mailed directly to you with copies sent to your health care provider if you wish. The fee for the entire procedure is $345.00 ($495.00 if breast imaging is included).
What is the procedure like?
Once the paperwork is completed, you will be escorted to a specialized imaging room. There you will be asked to disrobe and a gown will be provided for you to wear. Since the imaging procedure is sensitive to heat, you will need to spend 15 minutes acclimating to the controlled temperature of the room before the images can be taken. As the images are taken you will be asked to remove the gown so that the specific body area under study is exposed to the infrared detector (ex. upper back). Many sectional images will be taken in order to cover the majority of the surface of the body. During the procedure you will be directed to remove and replace the gown as needed in an effort to protect your modesty. However, certain areas will need to be exposed during the acclimation and/or imaging time if the area needs to be examined (ex. breasts and/or buttocks).
Who benefits from Infrared Full Body Scanning?
Everyone! Especially the health conscious person who is looking for an important tool to add to their regular preventive health care. By notifying you of a current problem, or possibly providing an early warning, infrared imaging has the ability to help you with health problems that rob you from enjoying life.
